IMPORTS SUMMARY BY COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

Summaries of imports by country of destination show the volume of tobacco by type intended to be imported from a particular country. These are merely import intentions of importers and the data shown in the summaries is obtained from the applications for import permits that are submitted by the importers to the Tobacco Control Commission.

The summaries capture the green weight volume (i.e mass of tobacco before the tobacco is processed) of tobacco. The volume imported is quoted in metric tonnes.
