The Tobacco Commission would like to inform all tobacco growers and grower associations that the period for the registration of growers for the 2021/2022 tobacco growing season has been extended to 29th October, 2021.
The commission has extended the registration period in response to Malawians’ growing interest to produce tobacco in the 2021/2022 season.
All Malawians interested to grow and sell tobacco in the forthcoming season are therefore being advised to go to the commission’s divisional offices in Lilongwe, Kasungu, Mzuzu and Limbe for registration.
The Tobacco Commission would like to inform all growers that there will be no payment of late registration fees during the extension period.
Tobacco growers are being urged to register and produce compliant crop which shall be competitive on the global market.
Growers are also being informed that it is an offence under the Tobacco Industry Act to grow tobacco without a license
The Tobacco Commission looks forward to successful 2021/2022 tobacco growing season
